注意: 以下に記されているハードウェアの構成はそれぞれのオペレーティングシステムにおいての最低要件です。

Windows® 95/98/Me が稼働しているコンピュータ:
486 プロセッサ, 32MB RAM と 50MB のハードディスク空き容量

Windows® NT® 4.0 が稼働しているコンピュータ:
486 プロセッサ, 24MB RAM と 50MB のハードディスク空き容量、サービスパック 3 (またはそれ以上) がインストール済み

Windows® 2000/XP® ワークステーション (サーバ不可) が稼働しているコンピュータ:
Pentium クラスのプロセッサ, 64MB RAM (128MB 推奨) と 50 MB のハードディスク空き容量

Windows® XP® 64-ビット版が稼働しているコンピュータ:
AMD Athlon64, Opteron または Intel EM64T-enabled Pentium 4 / Xeon プロセッサ, 128MB RAM (256MB 推奨) と 50 MB のハードディスク空き容量

プログラムそのものは 20MB のハードディスク空き容量が必要ですが、残りの空き容量はウイルス修復データベースファイルとそのインデックス (VRDB, 以前のバージョンでは "integrity database" として知られていた) のためにとってあります。

プログラムが稼働するには MS Internet Explorer 4 以上の機能が必要です。

この製品は サーバ用オペレーティングシステムにはインストールできません (Windows NT/2000/2003 サーバファミリー)。

avast! antivirus Professional Edition has received the Gold Malware Treatment Award from the Russian portal Anti-Malware.ru for its ability to detect and remove virus and other malware infections, without causing any damage to the host computer's operating system. In an October 2008 survey of 15 leading antivirus providers, avast! ranked 2nd and was one of only two providers able to remove both of the tested rootkit infections.
